Jarred Hickman Music
Jarred Hickman has been a prominent name throughout Lewis Center, Ohio, as an up-and-coming talent receiving highly competitive university offers across the world for jazz. He will attend The Ohio State University - Jazz Drum Set Studio with professors Jim Rupp and Mike Smith to pursue a bachelor's and a planned master's in Music Education with an emphasis in Jazz Drum Set.
Serving as the Director of Percussion and primary Teacher's Assistant at Olentangy Orange Middle School, Hickman is also a private instructor who teaches a wide range of students and styles, including:

Performing alongside groups like the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra, Jarred Hickman has toured Ohio, the East Coast of the United States, and Europe, performing with orchestras, percussion ensembles, and accompanying choirs.
While competing in international a cappella and national song-leading competitions, Hickman has been involved with the National Youth Choir, which performed at Carnegie Hall, and is the founder of the Orange Choirs Percussion Studio (a group of percussionists who accompany their choirs at Orange High School). He is currently in the audition process for The Ohio State University's a capella ensembles, "Buck That" and "The Ohio State of Mind."

Jarred Hickman is a jazz drum set musician from Lewis Center, OH, who’s also an active percussionist, vocalist, educator, and writer. His experiences range from wind symphonies and orchestras to big-band jazz and small-group ensembles.
He has performed with groups including the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra, the East Central Regional Orchestra, and the Klotho Foundation. Hickman has also performed as a jazz drummer, premiering original works such as "Mama’s Words" by Alex Fomba and "Day One" alongside Wil Gleckler and Allison Zigler, contributing to his growing presence within the Lewis Center jazz community.

Jazz Drum Set
As a jazz drum set percussionist, he's both a versatile performer and educator. After being instructed by Caitie Thompson, Dr. Ishbah Cox, Craig Dunn, and Zachary Zerkle, Jarred Hickman has become an emerging name for jazz in Lewis Center, touring independently with some of his classmates from Olentangy Orange High School. He'll be studying under Professor Jim Rupp in The Ohio State University Jazz Drum Set Studio

The Ohio State University
Jarred Hickman will be attending The Ohio State University Drum Set Studio, where world-renowned, Grammy-nominated jazz artist Jim Rupp will instruct him. He will also attend while participating in the a capella choirs and theatre department of the university.
The Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra
After being recommended based on his experience, lead conductor Elias Miller, Education Coordinator Nia Dewberry, and Operations Coordinator Brian Klinger brought Jarred Hickman on as an orchestra member. He recently toured throughout Europe in early June with the orchestra, performing in Vienna and Prague.
Director of Percussion
Hickman previously held an internship position at Olentangy Orange Middle School as the primary Teacher's Assistant and Director of Percussion, where he instructed jazz, concert, and marching percussionists while attending classes at Olentangy Orange High School. He is now the primary percussion writer.
